With the divine blessing and inspiration from Pujya Gurudev Acharya Shree Tulsi and Pujya Gurudev Acharya Shri. Mahapragya, Terapanth Educational and Medical Trust (Reg.on 15 Oct, 1988/S.No.319/1988) started Terapanth Jain Vidyalaya Mat. School at Sowcarpet in 1990. The School that started in a humble way grew in leaps and bounds over the years by imparting quality education. After carving a niche for itself in Sowcarpet, the Management decided to add one more feather in its cap by starting another Co-Educational English Medium School Terapanth Jain Vidyalaya Mat. School in Pattalam that blossomed on June 23" 1999 with the sole motive to provide quality education and help in the holistic development of students so that they bloom as perfect individuals and a responsible citizens.

Over the years with the tremendous support of parents and well wishers the school has established itself as a paramount in this locality and was upgraded with the status of Hr.Sec, in the year 2013. The School triumphs as one of the best schools in North Chennai by producing 100% results in the Board Examinations since 2004. The school stands tall with a strength of 1263 students, 63 teaching, 3 part time, 5 administrative and 21 non-teaching staff.

The school follows "Samacheer Kalvi" syllabus with Tamil as the compulsory second language and Hindi as the third language. The school has a splendid infrastructure with a multipurpose hall in the ground floor and a separate primary wing for the tiny tots.

To kindle creativity in young minds Project Day is conducted every year, to showcase the hidden talents of the students and bring it to the lime light we also conduct "NIHARIKA UTSAV-Intra school competition" and "UMANGG UTSAV-Inter School Competition" to sharpen their inbound skills. TJV PATTALAM Rolling trophy an interschool cricket tournament was introduced from 2015-16.

To fulfil the dreams of Acharya Shri. Tulsi and Acharya Shri. Mahapragya the school imparts Jeevan Vigyan-the science of living. yoga and preksha meditation to improve the overall fitness, strengthen the mind and well being of the body. To stimulate the interest of the students in hobbies and provide opportunities for self expression, thereby ensuring the formation of a balanced and integrated personality. The literary, arts and science clubs exist in the school, which look into varied activities of the students' all round development.
